• Discovering the Inner Cycle…

    by  • January 17, 2012 • HEALING

The necessity of following ones own inner cycles and to learn to synchronise with one’s self could be one of the essential keys to finding balance in life. First to learn about the outer cycles can be helpful to attune to the seasons and the moon. As they shows us the perception of circular “time”. What is time? That’s the mind’s way of keeping track on reality. The mind uses yesterday and the future to conceptualise life as when it really comes down to it there is only now. Everything happens in the now and the present is in constant flux, the life-death-life experience that eternally repeats it self.

Acknowledging the natural shifts of energy in nature explains a lot. Looking at the year we have the winter season, the death stage or regeneration phase for the earth and the seed is slumbering in the soil not knowing what will come next.  When spring comes and the seed gets the nourishment it needs as sunlight and warmth it starts rising and sprouts. In summertime the energy peaks and the seed flowers, shines in it’s full potential and living totally, inviting bees and other insects to pollenate it. Fall comes and with it the degeneration, weakening of life force and the flower starts crumbling dropping seeds that goes down in the earth again to continue the full circle of life and death.

The earth is synchronised with the moon and each month this cyclical renewal of energy is happening. The moon has three phases: waxing, full and waning but we can also split into four quarters: new moon, first quarter, full moon and last quarter. At new moon the energy is fresh and has an essence of rebirth, the seed is starting to sprout. At the first quarter when the moon is equal dark and light the energy is rising and new ideas are starting to take root.  At full moon it is luminous peak of energy climax, flowering and manifestation of visions. During the last quarter the fruit is decaying and its seeds shattered on the ground, life force is lessening and death is approaching.

For a woman it is so much easier to attune and realise the cyclical renewal because we feel it and see it happen with our bodies every 27-29 days as our bodies follows the moon’s cycle. Though the cycles are fluid, organic so doesn’t necessary mean that a woman bleeds on black moon.  Men too have an inner cycle and also benefit from the phase each one of has a phase to totally rest and let go of everything. For women it’s like a monthly death. And then there is the two other phases. First comes the rebirth and then comes flowering. Death again. So there is a time of the month is totally passive and non-productive as the moon is hidden for a few days.

That is how it should be and not all the time high energy, constant delivering, sending out energy. There is a time for deep let go. To retreat within and summarise the month that just passed. If there is any tension within the psyche that needs to be released or to be contemplated upon. Usually for me it is about all the times when I let myself down and didn’t step up for what I really needed.

The best way to spend this low energy period is probably to be alone somewhere it is peace and quiet. I like to just hang around and rest like a big tiger. Awake but extremely relaxed to the extent that I seem totally uninterested in anyone else. It is time when energy is gone like the pause the nothingness (sunyat) between in-and-out breath. There is nothing to do then just let it pass in its own pace…

When one has discovered that one is one self’s best friend and lover and truly love oneself love flows effortlessly… After that it is much easier to open up to others and see that indeed there is no separation between us.  When one is in tune with ones own unique natural rhythm life flows.
